FIJI LEPER STATION.

MANY INDIAN PATIENTS. CFroßi Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, December 28. The annual visit of friends and relatives to the inmates of the leper station at the island of -ila ogai to<-k place on Friday. The most noticeable thing at the island was the large increase in the number of the Indian patients. It is good news to hear that there are many cases showing marked improvement as the result of the oil treatment. Of late several patients have been discharged. Of these all have to keep in touch with the medical department, but co far there has been no instance of any revival or reappearance of the symptoms. There are some 48 Indians at Makogai. All the patients received great loads of presents, partly provided by friends and largely by the public of Suva and Levuka. Both places get up dances and other entertainments each November in order to provide Christmas comforts, and in this way all patients, no matter what nationality, are well catered for.
