The "Daily Mail" says that disastrous avalanches in the Swiss Alpi are increasing daily. Every gust »f warm wind following the exceptionaly heavy snow falls starts a fresh avalanche iv unlikely spots.
Several houses have been hried, and whole families have succumbei Rescue work is precarious. The avataches are more numerous than at any fene in living memory. Train services are interrupted, inconveniencing hundreds of tourists mostly British and American, attracted by the winter sport.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
