DEFEAT OF REBEL TRIBE. LONDON, January 1. The "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Rome reports tliat Italy has won a desert war in the course of the past fortnight, having quelled a rebellion of Mahallas Arabs in Italian Libya. Seven thousand white and native troops advanced in five columns on December 15 and concentrated against Beniulid. The rebel stronghold was attacked under cover of a sandstorm, and severe losses were inflicted on the Arabs.
