WAIKATO SWAMPS.
DETERMINING THE OUTLETS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Answering Mr. J. A. Young, M.P.. at Hamilton, yesterday, Mr. J. B. Thompson, Under-Secretary for Lands, stated that his department was at present getting information relative to the swamp lands of Waikato with a view to carrying out a survey as promised by Mr. Massey for the purpose of determining the outlets pf the different swamp areas. A field party would start work at the Woodlands end and work down the coast to Maungawara early in January. The speaker assured Mr. Young that the work would be carried oct as expeditiously as possible.
