DELHI, October 4. At the Calcutta tea sales the demand was strong, and firmer rates prevailed. The quality generally was fair. Commonest leaf brought from 12 annas 6 pice to 13 annas, commonest broken leaf 13 annas 6 pice to 14 annas, ordinary common Pekoe Souchong 13 annas 3 pice to 13 annas 9 pic?, lowest even leaf Pekoe 15 annas to 15 annas 6 pice.
