PRESENTATION.
Mr. A. X. Snedden, who is retiring from the service of Messrs. Ross and Glendining, Ltd., on account of ill health, was the recipient of a handsome desk and chair from the Auckland staff. Speaking on behalf of the staff, Mr. C. S. Falconer congratulated Mr. Snedden on the gTeat progress the company had made during his term as manager. When appointed some 19 years ago the premises were very small indeed, but he ivaa handing over to his successors the splendid pile of buildings now occupied. During his- long term of sen-ice each member felt that he had in his manager a personal friend, and so all now -wished to express to "him their highest esteem for his character and their best wishes for his future. Mr. C. 11. .Tones, chairman of the Warehousemen's Association, who -was ! present with several members of the j association, asked Mr. Snedden to accept) an easy chair from liis fellow members I of that .body.
