Mr. V, the Ventriloquist, quite agreed with Doctor B that it would be hard to catch us again. Suddenly Sammy Satchel shouted, "I'd like some of that pie!" He shouted so real that I quite forgot he was n doll, and answered, "You can have some with pleasure, but there's nothing in it, only crust." "It's a funny apple pie to have nothing in it," said Mr. V. "Arc you quite sure there's nothing in it," said Mr. V. "Arc you quite sure there's nothing in it?" I thought I saw the crust mov«. I suppose what it wants is some apple." "Yes," squeaked Sammy Satchel, "it wants s'm apple." And then Dr. B and I nearly jumped out of our clothes, for thrf pie shouted, "I want s'm apple." WHERE DID HE GO? Q. —Tom went out with his dog, who went not before, behind, nor on one side of him. Then where did he go? A.—On the other side.
