(Before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.) SPENT HIS MATE'S MONET. Three charges were preferred against ' James Alexander Denny (46), a seaman: '; A third offence of drunkenness, having ' committed an indecent act in Albert Street, and the theft of flO, bUe pro- ' perty of Harry Collins. (52), charged with helpless drunkenness, was ordered to pay ! doctor's expenses £1, in default three I days. Thomas Martin Harvey (37) was fined 20/. in default three days for drunkenness, and a similar sentence was imposed for having committed an indecent act at the railway station. Robert Milne (32) was fined 40/, in default three days for indecency. ALLEGED THEFT. On the application of Chief-Detective Cuinmings. John Gitob Hastings (24) was remanded till Thursday ona charge of having stolen a kit bag'and contents, valued at £4. Bail was fixed at £100. BOY WOULDN'T WORK. j 1 When the Court was cleared for the hearing of charges against juveniles, a large lad, aged 15 years, was ushered in, the reason being that he was deemed Ito be out of proper control. It wns stated that he wouldn't work. I "What's that? He won't work! " -said Mr. Hunt, S.M. "T'll make him work. The probation ofiicer must understand to bring him before the Court immediately there is any trouble. There is a cat at the Police Station, and we can give him a taste of that.
