OIL VERSUS COAL
AUSTRAIaABIAW MAILS. POSTMASTER'S IDEAS. SYDNEY, August 1. Mr. Gibson, Chief Postmaster at Sydney, commenting on the shipping report suggesting faster mail services, said that the mail boats would soon be converted to oil, thus saving four days on the voyage. He added that attempts to renew the land service from Brindisi to Calais on the old terms would be unsuccessful.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
