The question of the installation of an electric tramway system or even any feodern mode of transport for the residents of Hastings, has not yet been really seriously considered (says the . "Napier Telegraph"), but there is little doubt that, with the town making the progress it is at the present time, the <&y is not far distant when the question'will have to come up for consideration. Perhaps the advent of. the hydroelectric power from Waikaremoana will bring the question to a head, but in the interests of lh» town it would not. per- , haps, be wise to wait for euch an Indefinite period. .. . _ .
