TE AWAMUTU.
ADVANCEMENT LEAGUE FORME©. The meeting of business people convened by the local Chamber of Commerce, for the purpose of discussing the advisability of inaugurating some community effort to place more attractively before the people of the district the advantages of trading in Te Awamutu attracted a fairly representative attendance, gays the Waipa Post. The Mayor, Mr. L. G. Armstrong, was elected chairman. He said a lot of business was being diverted to other towns, and ways and mean* should be found to attract business to Te Awamutu. A lengthy, discussion followed, opinion being generally in favour of a "boosting" policy, and it was finally resolved to form an Advancement League for the purpose of carrring out the object of the gathering.
