COST TO THE CITY. A final statement in connection" with the Anae Avenue and Beach Road improvement scheme, which was commenced in 1915 and completed in 1920, was presented to the City Council-last evening by the Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson. The net financial result of the undertaking showed that the liabilities exceeded the assets by £55,102- In other words, the cost of the undertaking, including the completed Anzac Avenue known as the eastern outlet from th« city, the widening but not the paving ol ißeach Road and general improvements, amounted to that sum.
