SALE AT MAUNGATAPERE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAKEI, this day. Attendance at Mr. C. Steven's sale of high-class pedigree cows and heifers at Maungatapere yesterday, notwithstanding the inclement weather, was very good iqdeed. Bidding was very brisk. The top price was 70 guineas, paid for Golden Promise and Dorothy Fuchsia, both cows being bought by Mr. M. J. Nash, of Tangiteroria. Fancy Sheebeen (63 guineas) went to Mr. S. H. Barton, of Papatoetoe; Clarionet, 60 gufiieas, to Mr. M. Spehr, of Kokopu; Noble Beauty Girl, 60 guineas, Mr. J. McKinley; Kara •Toyful Majesty, 58 guineas, Mr. A. E. Phillips, Maunu; Maxim's Maid Curley, 60 guineas, Mr. M. J. Nash, Tangiteroria; Tyrol, 40 guineas, to Kaitaia; Cerise Silk, 40 guineas, Mr. A. C. Mannington, Maungatapere; Galway, 40 guineas, Mr. N. A. Worker, Manurewa; Glenyiew Acacia, 40 guineas, Mr. A. C. Mannington, Maungatapere; Noble Shoebeen, 52 guineas, Mr. S. H. Barton, Papatoetoe; Anagram, 35 guineas, Mr. N. A. Worker, Manurewa; Glen View Gay, 25 guineas, Mr. M. Shepherd, Kaeo; Glenview Sweet, 25 guineas, Mr. M. Shepherd, Kaeo; Glenview Sunrise, \' 20 guineas, to the same purchaser. PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. i A sale of pedigree Jersey stock was held at Te Matai yesterday on account of Mr. S. K. Lancaster, buyers being present from all parts of the North Island, also one from Melbourne, whose purchases were limited to two animals at a moderate figure. The top price of the sale was 185 guineas, paid by Mr. H. J. Lancaster for the heifer Golden Maiden. There was good competition for better quality entries, and only a small proportion was passed in. The highest price for a stud bull was 85 . guineas.
