FAILS TO REACH RESERVE. \{ "Cintra," the residence of the Hon. A. M. Myers, containing 20 rooms, and 5i acres of land, having a frontage of 58ft to Symonds Street, and 297 ft to Whittaker Place; also a brick house of four rooms, standing on the property, was offered for sale at auction this morning by T. Mandeno Jackson, Ltd., but waß passed at £22,750. There was a large attendance, but bidding was slow. The first offer was £20,000. and this was raised to £21,000. With £500 bids the increased to £22,500, and stopped with another bid of £250. The auctioneer stated that the terms were £1000 down, £4000 in one month, and the balance in eight years at 5 per cent. At the conclusion of the bidding he said that the reserve was low, but the amount offered was not sufficient.
