The report and balance-sheet of the Cevonport Steam Ferry Company for the year ended April 30, states: — i "The profit and loss account, after placing £1500 to the credit of the accident insurance fund, the boiler renewal and steamer insurance accounts, and after making allowance for depreciation ;on steamers and plant and for directors' honorarium, shows a net profit for the year.of £7005 17/6. The balance brought forward last year, after payment of dividend, amounted to £405 12/0, making a total of £8311 10/. I An interim dividend at the rate of 7J : per cent per annum for the half-year ended October 31, 1922, was paid, which absorbed ±3853 13/9, leaving a balance to credit of profit and loss account of £4457 10/3. The directors recommend that a dividend at the rate of 7i per cent per annum be paid to shareholders for the half-year ended April 30, 1923, which will absorb the sum of £3507 6/0, leaving a balance to be carried forward to next year's accounts of £590 9/6.
