Moanatatari.—The mine manager reports Huring the week the crosscut was advanced 23ft, total 9321 ft from main tunnel. Two leaders were passed through, onu being 12 inches wide, and the other about 4 inches wide. The quartz is of a kindly nature in both of them, and carrying a little mineral The 12-inch lender is crossing tin- drive at a fairly long angle, and the small one at nearly right angles with the drive. They would junction with a few feet of driving on the slide side of the drive, aud the quartz is stronger on that side.

LONDON TALLOW MARKET.

The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from their London office under date KOth ult.: — Tallow. —There is a fair demand. Current quotations: Good mutton and beef. 40/6 to 41/ per cwt; mixed, 40/ to 40/(1 per cwt; gut. 34/G to 35/G per cwt.
