A DECISIVE XTLTIMATUM. qj 1 (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 3. Dame Nellie Melba. is the latest opponent of broadcaeting. She announced that she would not sing in "La Boheme" at Covent Garden if she were to be heard by listeners-in. Her ultimatum was decisive, and the broadcasting company was compelled to announce over the wireless that although Dame Melba'e performance was advertised they could not fulfil it. Thousands who anticipated hearing her were disappointed. . It is stated that Dame Melba's agents persuaded her that it was not in her interests to allow her voice to be broadcasted. (A. and N.Z.
