VARIETY OF ACCIDENTS.

DURING THE WEEK-END. Accidents attributable to various mishaps took pjace in Auckland during the week-end, in addition to those that occurred before the "Star" went to press on Saturday. A motor car knocked down a (Jae Company employee, Herbert Robert Arthur, 50, of Curran Street, Ponsonby, when he was crossing Upper Symonds Street on Saturday evening. Mr. Arthur was hurt aboat the head and arm and was taken to the city hospital. He is reported to be making favourable progress. A fall from a motor-cycle sidecar in Remuera Road resulted in Mrs. 11. Sharkey, residing in Western Springs Itoad, Morningside, falling on her head. She was removed to the hospital suffering from concussion, and ia now out of danger. Through colliding with a trolley, a cyclist named Roy Clapham, aged 13, had a nasty spill at Mangere crossing. He broke his arm and was badly shaken. A boy of ten, Leonard Cuthbert, a pupil of the Dilworth Institue, had a fall and broke hie arm and received facial injuries. William Clark, of Morningside, another elderly man, collapsed in Victoria Street. In his fall lie received slight head injuries and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. A Hindu named Rama Bava, employed in a Queen Street restaurant, was badly burned by the overturning of a cistern of boiling water. He received medical treatment at the hospital, where he was detained. MOTOR ACCIDENTS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondents HAMILTON, this day. While driving along Ohaupo Road, near Hamilton, on Saturday evening, a farmer named Moses Hamilton Hepburn, in a Ford car, collided with a motor cycle ridden by Kenneth McFarland. of Ohaupo. The impact caused the car to swerve completely round and capsize, while the motor cycle was damaged almost beyond repair. McFarland received a compound fracture of the right leg and Hepburn a broken collarbone. Both were taken to the Waikato Hospital, but Hepburn was able to leave the institution yesterday.

A second accident occurred in Hamilton about 10.30 on the same night, this time in Grey Street, Hamilton East, when a taxi driver named E. W. Smythe ran into a gig going in the same direction, causing it to capsize. The occupants, two brothers named Moyle and a man named Stonell, all of Morrinsville, were thrown out but only received slight injuries, though the gig was badly smashed.
