In pursuance of the provisions of Section flof "The Local Elections and Polls Act. i 1908," I hereby give notice that a Poll of , the Ratepayers of the Borough of Newi market on the proposal to raise two Separate Special Loans, viz., Street Improvement Loan £26.500 Municipal Building Loan £2000 will be taken on TUESDAY, the 12th day of June, 1023, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the following polling places: 1. PROPOSED LOAN OF £26,500 FOR STREET IMPROA'EMENT WORKS. The Mayor. Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Niewmarket hereby give notice, in pureuance of Section 9 of The Local Bodies 1 Loans Act, 1913:— 1. That the purpose for which the Loan is required is the improvement of certain streets within the Borough of Newmarket, namely :— (a) The paving of Mannkau Road, Khyber Pass Road, ParK Road, Claremont Street, King Street, and Station Street, in concrete. (b) Tbe paving of Broadway ln concrete or other approved material and the construction of George Street and Huntly Avenue Tn Bituminous material. (c) Alterations to the existing levels of Manukau and Maungawhau Roads, and the taking up and relaying of water mains In Manukau Road, Khyber Pass Road, Claremont Street, King Street, and Station Street. 2. That the Newmarket Borough Council being unable to provide the necessary funds for such work out of the ordinary revenue, proposes to borrow a sum not exceedfng £26,500. 3. That the proposed security for the Loan shall be a Special Rate of Tenpence (lOd) ln the £ on the Annual A'nlue of all the Ratable Property in the Borough of Newmarket. 4. That the Newmarket Borough Council proposes to make such Loan repayable within a period of Twenty A'ears. and to make provision for the payment of Sinking Fund of not less than 1 per centum per annum. 5. That the Newmarket Borough Council proposes to pay out of such Loan the costs, charges, ad expenses Incurred in connection with the raising thereof, but not the interest or sinking fund thereon for the flrSrt year.
