Sir Francis Bell, that all applications made lioforc the curtailment would »"t be affected liy that decision. Tlie telegram also stated thai the department hoped soon to be able to deal finally with all these applications made over nine, months njio. It now appears that the .leaning up of these applications will murk the cessation of the scheme, for advice has been received by the land hoards that no further applications were tn he received after the middle of last month.
