' Tlie members of the Arts and Crafts ! met this week in the Alexandra Hall for their usual work and intercourse: the room looked very bright with chrysanthemums. The third annual dance given by tiie Sonning old ojrls took plate last Friday. Mrs. Whitehorn, who wore a gown of jade, crepe de chine and silver, and Miss fi. Rawson, in pink georgette over rose, were the hostesses. A young people's dance was given by Mosdames IL Douglas, E. T. Wilson, and Miss Cray, in honour of' Misses X. Douglas, K. Wilson, and V. Watts, who arc home on term holidays. The dance was held in St. Peter. Hall, which looked very pretty with bright decorations. A very happy lime was spent by the young folks. A delicious supper was served. Mrs. Douglas wore black silk, Mrs. Wilson silk and georgette. Misses X". Douglas mauve satin and K. Wilson pink satin. The members of the Claudclands Anglican (luild, who have decided to hold monthly entertainments of a varied character to pay off the debt on the hall, organised a very" successful social which was held on Thursday ■evening. Hems were given by Mrs. Athey, Misses McLeod, Sherson, Storey, and 'Mr. Brooke. Mrs. Brown played the dance music. The committee, consisting of Mesdames Xewell, D. Hay, Griffiths, .1. Elliott, and 'Sherson. did all possible to make the evening a success.
