IMPROVEMENT ON PREVIOUS SALE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday, i At to-day's wool sale bidding on the • whole was keen. There was a small i ; amount of wool passed in of the total i! catalogue of 17,500 bales. There was a - j keen demand for crutchings, in which ; Japan was a keen competitor. Lincoln 11 wools were also required by Japan. A : i substantial advance on last sale rates ~ wae anticipated in every department but , j was not generally realised. Any lines i ; showing quality brought good prices. i j Lambs' wool was in strong demand, ! especially for lines reasonably free from - seed. Local mills were out for this particular wool. • Prices were fully id to 3d per lb up .on rates at the last sale. Super lambs ; made up to lejd. America was taking , good clean crossbred lines at "•enerally ,; excellent rates. Up to 14d was paid by ; , the Continent for bright, well-ekirte'd . j crossbred.
