MORRINSVILLE DOG TRIALS.

_ GOOD DOGS IN ACTION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE. Thursday. The Morrlnsvllle sheep dog trials, held under the auspices of the Morrlnsvllle Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association, were held yesterday, and proved a highly successful event, a large anumber of competitors coming from Taranakl, Opotiki, Itactihl, Te Kuiti, Thames and Hamilton. The judge, Mr. Nolan. of Cambridge, spoke highly of the trials, and said the work of the dogs right through was sood. especially that of the visiting dogs. The work of the winning dogs in the driving and yarding competition was of exceptional merit. Tbe young owners performed well, but were lacking in generalship. The following are the resulta : — Maiden Event. —J. Marsden's (Morrinsvllle) Dick, 31 points, 1 : S. Vovce's (Te Kuiti) Glen. 30 points, 2: C. Cameron's (Morrinsvillc) Coolie, 20 points, 3. Long Head.—E. Johnsons (Klore, Taranaki) ummermoor Hemp, 37 points, 1 ; C. O'Neill's (Ruakura Farm) Sweep. 36 points, 2: S. Vovce's Glen, 3* points, 3; A. Russell's (Thames). Bruce, 33. points, 4. Driving and Yardlne.—S. Voyce's Glen, 63 points, 1; E. Johnson's Lammermoor Hemp. 62 points. 2: S. Voyce's Trim. 61 points. 3 ; C. Cameron's Jim, 52 points, 4. Special prizes were awarded as follows: Man from Longest Distance.—E. Johnson (Klore. Taranakl). Oldest Competitor.—P. McN'aughton. Dog Showing Most Style.—S. Voyce's Glen.
