MARKS ON MERCHANDISE.
COUNTY OF ORIGIN. VIEWS OF DOMINIONS. (Received n a.m.) LONDON, May 3. the Mouse of Commons, Mr. YV. M. R. Pringle, for the Standing Committee on the Merchandise Marks Bill, submitted an amendment excluding all Dominions' products from the scope of the measure. He said tlte object was to discover the tenor of the Dominions' representations on the subject. -Sir Robt. Sanders (President of the Board of Agriculture) said that Canada, New Zealand, and many colonies had sent representations, but it would no: be in accordance with the usual practice to reveal these in detail. They were not contrary to the general principles of the bill, but demanded that Empire products be treated differently from foreign. If the Government could meet the colonies he would submit amendments later. Mr. Pringle withdrew the amendment. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
