DE VALERA'S EFFUSION.
IGNORED BY DAiL A ONE-SIDED TRUCE. REBELS BEING HUNTED. (By Cable.—Press Association.— Copyright.) DUBLIN. May 3. •Some surprise is manifested that tlie last meeting of the Dai] Elrann passed without any allusion io do Valera's proclamation, especially since the entire absence of irregular outrages rIiOWh that his ono-sidi!(l truce has been put into operation. The Free State Government, however, is apparently determined' to ignore the effusion, at any rate for the timo being. Ji.'bels are still being harried and hunted, which the Government has emphasised by issuing details of a considerable number of arrests. Though somewhat puzzling on the surface, the Government's attitude follows logically its determination to suppress the revolt without compromise and to refuse to be drawn into a controversy.— (A. and N.Z.)
