SAME. AS LAST YEAS. THE ESTIMATES ADOPTED. H is proposed by the City Council to strike the same rate as list year, beinjr a total of 3/11 in the £. Particulars of tlw proposal were contained in a statement by the Mayor to the Council last night. In addition, £5750 was illocated for special votes. Among the terns of estimated expenditure were:— osts of elections, loan polls and liceniiifr expenses. £4000. and Town Hall (■novations. £2000. in the Finance and -••jjal Committee's vote, and the followiiL- sppeial votes: University Board unci. £2000; blind appeal (provisional), :250: and Boys' Club, £500.
