AUTUMN SHOW AT ELLERSLIE.
The Ellerslie Parish Show was a ver successful function. Tbe exhibits wei tastefully staged, and the hall presente o pleasing sight. The entries in flowei wore not numerous, but some fine bloom were shown. The vegetable section wa weil filled, and some exceptionally fin grevn peas, runner beans, dwarf beam parttdps, carrots, and . onions wei exhibited. The fruit section containe some splendid apples, pears, lemons, an figs.- Butter and eggs were poorly repn sented. Preserves and cooking attract? heavy entries, competition being very keei A new Class in home-made, sweets cause keen rivalry, and the delicious exhibit were a credit to tbe Ellerslie Indies. Mr. Vf. 3. Jordan, M.P. for Manukai was prasent during the afternoon, and i n short address congratulated the sho committee on their fine display. Tbe chief prize-winners were:— Vegetables.—B. C.
