PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. The professional golf tournament was continued to-day under very favourable conditions. The first 18 boles of the Taranakl professional championship of 72 holes were played,- and simultaneously the first 18 holes for the Myers' challenge cup of 30 holes. The standard of play varied considerably, as will be seen by the respective totals, several of the competitors falling to show their true form. Shaw did the best round of the meeting, doing 71 for the first time ln a proper medal match. Klrkwood did 71 in an exhibition match, and Butters did a similar round In practise on Wednesday of this week.
