NINE TRAINS WRECKED. ATTEMPT TO BLOCK LINE. (By Cable.—l'rc=s Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, April 4. The Baris correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that the Germans have not been slow in retaliating for the shooting at K,-:sen. Xinc trains were released at Friedrichsfehle and sent, unmanned, at full speed in the direction of Wesel. The inevitable collision resulted, and TO wagons were smashed to matchwood. It is believed the intention was to block I he important junction of Wesel. which is on the bank of the Rhine, 22 miles north-west of Kssen. The bodies of those who were killed when French troops fired on Krnpps' workers last .Saturday will be interred in what is known as tlie "Cemetery or Honour" at Essen, Krupps paying the expenses. It is expected that 100.000 workers will take part. The council of Kruppis" workers lias issued a bitter protest against the shooting and urges German trades unionists to combat militarism of every kind. It appeals to the feeling of solidarity among the world's working classes to free the Germans from grievous oppression by French soldiers.—l A. and X.Z.)
