SHORTSR ROUTE WANTED. %
In deeidiner to send delegate* to tS* "proposed conference of local bodies interested in thi9 question, the ch&irasn of the New Lynn Town Board (Mr. C F. Gardner) at their meeting last evening pointed out that the present line was now taxed to its utmost capacity and that the only real solution to the present and futuVe difficulties wae the construction of a shorter route to thi city. It was understood that duplication was intended by the department at an early date, but that could not *• accepted as the remedy as a quicks? and more direct Toute wae wanted Theee views were accepted by the board and this morning the following wire «v dispatched to the Prime Minister:-" "Stated here that Railway Department proposes immediate duplication of present north suburban railway line. I am instructed by my board to enter emphatic protest against this perpetrar tion of present tedious and costly routeIt considers time ripe for direct better graded access to the city. A.
