On Friday night last a "Pound Night' was held at Onehunga, when the District Commissioner, Mr. Grigsby, came out to inspect the troop, and presented the trophies won at the troop's first animal cauip and hula. The Mayor (Mr. Park), Sir Frederic Lang, Rev. r>. D. Scott, and a large number of parents and friends, were present. also about twenty members of the Church of Christ Boys" Club, under Mr. Hall. 1 The evening was commenced with the official inspection by the Commissioner, followed by tbe Investiture of four sconte. Interesting displays of bridge building, fire lighting, and a play staged by the boys themselves were given. The play showed to those present the value of having a. knowledge of ambulance, signalling, tracking, and quarter staff. Prizes were then ; presented by the Commissioner. A fine : selection of prizes came to hand, and this enabled flrst and second prizes to be given for every event and competition. After supper short speeches on the welfare of tbn movement were given by the Commissioner and others. The committee was present In full strength, and they to a great extent were responsible for the success of the evening. No weekly parade will be held this week, but It Is the intention of the scoutmasters to hold a training camp for leaders and seconds during Easter week, end.
