Stayers came In again thin week for CnlonialfSu'gar. Australian issue, at £41, and an advance of 10/ upon that figure was offered at the third call yesterday. Loan and Mercantile Agency are wanted at £S5 for ordinary, nnd £74 fer preference stock, an advance of 20/ in the latter case. Wellington • Woollen, both issues, are ;n regular demand at £8 17/, but no sales were recorded at that figure. Gear Meat, Ltd.. have advanced a couple of shillings during the last fortnight, being now wanteil at 40,/, but no seller has quoted. Bank of Australasia are In request at £12 l(i/ ex div., and Bank of New South Wales could be placed at £37 5/. Transactions took place in National Bank shares at £G 8/ and £(i s./O, also in Bank of New Zealand at 07/3 and r>7,/. Union Bank of Australia firmed In price this week. being sold yesterday up ro «4 2/6, and tber,; was a buyer left at 2/0 under that figure. Several transactions took place this week in Auckland Gas ole Issue at 2G/ and 25/0. Home Builders' shares are being quietly picked up. sales being made this week at 14/10 and 14/y. There has been a steady demand -with frequent sales for Wilsons Cement at 24/3. Insurance shares bad more attention during the week Nationals selling at 7.V. New Zealande at 2S/6 and 28/3, and South British at 37/ R. Buyers of Standard Insurance shares advanced their offers to 34/(1. but no business followed. Huddart Parker steam again changed hands at GO/C, and are still wanted at the even money. Parker Lamb Timber are a little firmer, buyers now offering up to 24/3, but holders<-an> zc/. Kempthorne Prosser Dfug could now be placed at SS/G but no selling price is quoted. Steady inquiry continues for Northern Boot and Shoe shares at 22/, but that figure has not been accepted.
