ILLEGAL SALE OF LIQUOR.
TN THE KING COUNTRY. (Rγ Telegraph.—"mi Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUT, Friday. Several liquor cases were heard at the fortnightly sitting of the Magistrate's Court. The magistrate, Mr. F. W. PlattP. S.M.. gave his reserved decision concerning the charges against Rose Anne Williams, John Williams and Norman Henry Marshall, of Owhango. His Worship said he had como to the conclusion that Mrs. Williams,'her husband and Marshall were engaged in a flagrant breach of the lasv by carrying on a sly grog establishment for their mutual benefit. Dealing with the charges, he said that Mrs. Williams had pleaded guilty to five breaches of the Act in regard to ordering liquor, ami she would be fined £5 on each charge. The charge against her of selling liquor would b« dismissed. For keeping liquor for sale, John Williams would be convicted and fined £2o; while Xorman Marshall, on a similar charge, would be convicted and fined £nO. The charge, against Marshall of selling lirjvov would be dismissed. Three charges were brought against May Annie Crowe of getting liquor into a proclaimed area without giving her proper name and address. On one charge the accused was convicted and fined £20; on the second she was fined £1. and on the third £-3.
