SYDNEY'S WATER SUPPLY.
NEW BOARD OF CONTROL. (Received 2..10 p.m.' SYDNEY, this day. The Water Board is the subject of much acrimonious criticism for prohibiting the use of sprinklers and hoses in gardens. Mr. T. Ball, Minister of Works, announced that be is drafting a bill to reconstitute the Board and place (he department in the hands of a trust, with power to raise its own loans to carry out necessary works for an adequate water supply. The Board is at present composed of elected representatives of city and suburban municipalities, and appointed representatives of the Government, who receive five guineas for one sitting weekly.—(A. and X.Z.
