ILLUMINATED LORRY.

WILLARD BATTERY LIGHTS. PEEASIXG CARNIVAL SIGHT. Of the displays seen during carnival week, that designed to emphasise the supremacy of Willard storage batteries, which are used as original equipment for 290 leading American cars, has attracted much public attention and admiration. It consisted of a lorry brilliantly illuminated with blue," red, amber, and green lights, arranged in alternating colours over the radiator, driver's hood, body, and wheel spokes, and upon a central raised platform surmounted with electric signs proclaiming the ascendancy of the "Willard,"' the efficiency of which battery is rendered exclusive by the use of acidresistant thread-rubber. The liatteries produced about 4000 candle power of light, which formed a strikingly beautiful sight, especially when also in the vehicle was the electrical industry representative who appeared at the "recent fancy drese and poster ball. As the lorry proceeded along the lights on the wheel hubs flashed intermittently as the current was automatically cut off and turned on by the wheel revolutions. This "blinking" idea created much interest and showed skill and taste in design. The Electrical Construction Company, whose handsome new showTOom premises and up-to-date service station at "Electric House." 52. Fort Street, are well known, was responsible for this unique display. The decorated and illuminated lorry, which was no less artistic than the launch illuminated by the firm at the Venetian carnival, appeared in the main streets of the city last evening on special exhibition.—(Ad.
