LIFE INSURANCE AND SUPERANNUATION. A HARBOUR BOARD SCHEME. '•Tho number of tho Wellington Harbour Board's permanent employees on September 30, 1922. was 389. of whom 308 had their lives assured under the Board's scheme, towards the premiums of which policies the Board paid £1879 18/0, the total sum assured being £97,055, or an average of £264 per employee asjsured,' , states the annual report of the secretary of the Wellington Harbour Board. The proceeds of the matured policies of fifteen members of the staff, amounting to £5092 14/10, are held by t'ne Retiring Allowance Trustees of the Board on fixed deposit, the amount of added interest at September 30, 1922, being £963 4/10, making a gross total of £«055 19/8. j During the year £359 17/1 was paid over by the trustees to two members of the staff retired on superannuation. On September 30. 1922, the number of the Board's employees contributing to the superannuation fund was 340. The payments made by the Board during the year ended on that date were as under: — Contribution to fund (being 65 per cent of employees' contribution). £4213 8/11; allowances to superannuated employees for service prior to April 1. 1913, £2512 15/2: incidental expenses. £8 2/; total. £6,734 0/1. The balance to credit of the fund on December 31, 1021. was £65,107
