HEMSTNCHING WORK.

PATTERNS AXD EDGIXOS. MISS SCOTT'S BUSY ROOMS. Tn divss circles in Auckland and other parts of Xcw Zealand the good work of ■Miss €. IT. Greer Scott, the hemstitching and spokestitching specialist, .'s widely known, and the busy rooms at 73, City Chambers, bear witness to tlie extensive clientele that has grown during the last ■six years. Since our report in December, Miss Scott has installed a new singleneedle machine —the only one of its kind in the city —for the carrying out of very tine work such as dress and blouse frills, handkerchiefs, pillow-slips and shams, and for finishing-off dainty underwear. This requires much skill in the of the work, so that fabrics such as silks, crepe-de-chines, georgettes and other delicate materials are not injured while being cleverly machined according to designs. The double-needle machine is really for spokestitic-hing. Four machines are now in operation, and always kept exceedingly busy hemstitching and edging various' materials and working out BEAUTIFUL PATTERN DESIGNS for Mouses and dresses or lingerie. Miss 'Scott receives orders in quantity from the shops and dressmakers, whilst her services are in demand from ladies all over the Dominion. There is very little in this form of needlework with which Miss Scott is not familiar, and her specialised assistance is appreciated as constituting a reliable and up-to-date service.
