There is a, charming collection of

frocks for evening wear, including! several models in gros-grain taf-i feta. These are made in the early Victorian styles which have added such a

charming and piquant note to recent | evening fashions. One, in mauve and, jade tones, is made with hip panniers and picot streamers, while a shimmering blue creation is beaded with silver and las a girdle of dainty roses. A tomato georgette model, elaborately embroidered in silver, with a wide silver fringed girdle, is another beautiful frock. Prominent in the display are several chic models in the latest draped styles, one of gold panne velvet, another in jade, each a thing of exquisite beauty, each worthy of the master hand responsible for its creation.

Women will be particularly interested in the delightful models on display the millinery showrooms, for here are some of the most becoming hats that have yet made their appearance in Auckland. The advance styles in millinery, as represented in moduls from leading London and Parisian salons, show that hatters' plush and panne velvet are to be predominant features this winter. Colours are inclined to he quiet, ranging between mole, grey and sof; fawn shades, while black and navy are also largely in evidence. The trimmings, too. on the best models are rich and exquisitely tasteful. Drooping feather mounts, wide Hat bows and smartly cut brims are much in evidence, the placing of the trimming at the side and back giving a very smart and striking effect. Steel nnd gold quills are in lavish use, ivhilo touches of monkey and coney seal fur add ihe last note of exclusive smartness.
