ARCHBISHOP JULIUS.
I j RETURNING TO NEW ZEALAND. I —^— (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. i Archbishop Julius is sailing for Xew Zealand by the Manuka on Friday. Commenting on the effect of the Lambeth decisions regarding New Zealand, he said the proposals were kindly and warmly received. There is still no apparent tendency at present for an ecclesiastical union. The councils representing i the different churches which had l>een ' formed to deal with social questions had done good work. One instance was the inter-change of pulpits which took place, but that was opposed to the Lambeth proposals. In any case it was purely superficial. Comparing Australia and Xew Zeajland. Bishop Julius said he had noticed no aggressive national sentiment in Australia such as prevailed in Xew Zealand. He did not care for the Xew Zealand zeal for flag-waving. Loyalty must be quiet I and deep.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
