INSTITUTION QF CIVIL ENGINEERS.
THE OCTOBER EXAMINATIONS. LIST OF SUCCESSES. (From Our Special Correnpondent.) LONDON, January 26. The Institution of Civil Engineers has issued the results of the examination of last October, and these record that eight New Zealanders have passed the preliminary. Two have filly passed and become qualified as associate members. The following arc the successful candidates in the preliminary: Frank Alexis Carter (Hawke's Bay), St. John Coventry (Napier), Eric John Garlick (Hawke's Bay), Charles Henry McLeod Hawk (Wellington)., Wilfred John Litherland Auckland), Edwin George McLeod (Auckland), William Edward Puddy (Wellington), and George Ivan Bickerdyke Thomas (Napier). Messrs. Athol Huntley Murison (Wellington) and Frederick Charles Purcell Tregurtha (Christchurch) have succeeded in becoming associates of the institution.
The following have passed in sections A and B: Gordon McLean Beck (Wanganui), John Dow (Wellington), Irwin Joseph Howell (Auckland), William Theodore Langbein (Christchurch), Gerard William Sampson (Wellington), and ' Charles Gardiner Wilson (Wellington).
Those who passed in section A are: John Heilard Christie (Nuhaka), George Henry Edward Collins (Auckland), Robert Henry Lovatt (Christchurch ), Horace Campbell Lusty (Wellington), and Donald Harcus Scott (Wellington). One New Zealander has passed in section C: Spencer Gray Scoular, B.E. (Dunedin).
