PUBLIC BEQUESTS TOTAL £S7SO RESIDUE TO GO TO BROTHER. The Public Trustee, who has been appointed the executor of the will of the late Sir William Herries, advises that bequests of a public nature, amounting in the aggregate to £8750, are included in the will. Wellington, to be spent in furnishings fjoo Jubilee Institute for the Blind, Auckland £750 Church of England, Tauranga, towards maintenance or rebuilding £250 Church of England, Te Aroha, towards maintenance or rebuilding £250 Church of England, Te Puke, towards maintenance or rebuilding £250 Church of England, Morrinsville, towards maintenance or re-building £250

"The money gifted to the boroughs of Tauranga and Te Aroha is for purposes not covered by rates or ordinary revenue. If these two legacies are not expended within six years, any balance will fall into the residuary estate. The will also provides that all printed books belonging to deceased, exclusive of manuscripts and diaries, are to go to the Parliamentary Library, Wellington.

After providing for various pecuniary legacies of a private nature, the residue of the estate is bequeathed to a brother, who is resident in England. The Public Trustee further reports that full details of the estate are not yet available, but it is of considerable value.

The will appoints Mr. Andrew Hanna of Auckland, solicitor to the trust.
