NEW LONSDALE BELT.
"BUGLER" LAKE WINS. LONDON, February 27. At the National Sporting Club "Bugler" Lake easily out-pointed Tommy Harrison for the bantam championship. Lake was very quick and elusive in the early rounds, though Harrison occasionally got in a hard right which steadied Lake. Later Lake showed marked superiority. Harrison fell to a left to the chin in the thirteenth round, but he got up quickly. Harrison tried all he could to secure a knock-out, but Lake fought him away in fine style, showing manifest superiority.
The fight was for a club purse of £700 and the new Lonsdale belt. Lake is 22 years of age, and has only boxed for four years. In that time he has been engaged in 57 contests, and has been defeated only three times. —A. and N.Z.
