Mr. Justice Stringer left Auckland last evening for Hamilton.

Mr. A. S. Bankhart was a passenger by the Wellington Main Trunk express last evening.

Mr. Alf. J. Parker, F.C.S., Government analyst, has returned to Auckland after an extensive tour through the U.S.A.

_ Mr. O. F. Nelson, Sr.moa, of Messrs. A. Nelson and Sons, the well-known Island merchants, arrived in Auckland by the Navua to-day.

Mr. R. H. Kirkwood, late Government auditor at Fiji, returned to Auckland to-day by the Navua. He is accompanied by Mrs. Kirkwood.

Mr. Selwyn Clemens Clarke was yesterday admitted by Mr. Justice Herdman as a solicitor of the Supreme Court.

Dr. W. Stanley Wallis, of Rotorua, who has been absent at the medical conference at Christchurch, returned to Rotorua on Monday.

Mr. Walter D. Charlton, formerly of the literary staff of the New Zealand "Times," and now of Dargaville, has been awarded ''.he Diploma of Journalism, according to advice received last week. Mr. Charlton is leaving for Sydney in May to take up a position on the literary staff of the Sydney "Daily Mail."

Lieut.-Colonel McKenzie. M.C, of the Salvation Army, Brisbane, is on a visit to Wellington. He is well known in New Zealand, having been editor of the "War Cry" some years ago. When the war broke out he was appointed chaplain to the Main Body of the A.1.F., and went direct to Egypt, thence to Gallipoli, where he served during the whole of the campaign. He then went to the French front, and saw considerable service there, being awarded the Military Cross.

Mr. A. E. Odlin, a director of the C. and A. Odlin Timber and Hardware Co.. Ltd., prior to his departure from Wellinjrton for Auckland, where he is now taking up his residence to control the company's branch business was tendered a farewell dinner by twenty-five of the departmental head's and leading hands, presided over by Mr. C. C. Odlin, managing director. On behalf of the employees Mr. C. C.
