MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
A meeting or! the aboTe iboard was held last night. Present: Messrs. G. E. Tansley (chairman), H. Luke, J. J. Freston, E. J. Herd, S. Scarborough. Domain Board.—Sitting first as a Domain Board, it was decided that the Works Committee should inspect the domain reserve, where the tennis courts are situated, before replying to a request from the tennis club for another court at the expense of the The reserve account is in credit £15 5/7, and the Hillsborough Square account £29 «/.
Water Extension.—The new main from Manukau Road is now completed up to the boundary of the Mount Roskill district, so that the board may now make the necessary connection at this point. This information was received from Mr. J. Carlaw, of the city waterworks. The board will make the connection as soon as a 4-inch water meter can be obtained.
Loan.—The State Advances Board intimated that a loan of f/.000 had been granted for water extension to the Islington Estate at 6 per cent interest per annum.
Drainage.—The board further considered the question of the drainage of the eastern portion of the district, and it was agreed to continue negotiations with the One Tree Hill Road Board with a view to joint action toeing taken by the two districts for a united drainage scheme.
