HAMILTON SUPREME COURT.
— ■ _. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.. HAMILTON", this day. The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened to-day. There are ten cases for trial, two of alleged indecent assault on young girls while bathing at Hamilton and Taumarunui, one of unlawfully opening a postal packet, two of forgery, and several of theft. A young man named John Frederick James Southey pleaded guilty to theft, having found a cheque lying in the road, which he promptly cashed. Accused was placed on probation for two years and ordered to refund part of the money not yet recovered. William Matthew George Stevenson pleaded guilty to theft of a postal packet containing a cheque for £22 3/, at Cambridge. He was admitted to probation for two years, on condition that he made restitution and paid court costs.
