MINING NEWS.
MUIR'S GOLD REEFS. LTD. YIELD OF JANUARY CRUSHING. Tbe general manager of Mulr's Gold Reefs. Ltd.. reports as follows.—"During the twenty-one days ended January 31, 10-3, 2300 tons of ore were crushed and treated for a yield of 1067 ounces of One gold and 565 ounces of fine silver. No. 3 level has been extended from 400 to 460 feet south of the fault, the assay values j being low. The new reef, running parallel I with "Mulr's" Reef at 75 feet east of it. has been driven on a further 65 feet, and after passing through a fault widened out to 44 Inches. The value is low. but the reef Is still in country more or less disturbed In consequence of its proximity to the fault just passed through. The shaft has been sunk to a depth of 84 feet. Sufficient surface water was met With to necessitate installing a sinking pump. This has been done, and progress is now satisfactory.'' SOUTHERN EXCHANGES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
