Lawrence, of Whakatane, about VI years ago. was won outright on Saturday by Matata. They defeated Whakataue in the final by 11 sets to 8. Matata have won the nip Jive times. NEW ZEALAND COUNCUb The Quarterly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Tennis Association will be held at Wellington to-morrow evening. The chief business will be the location "C the 1023 New Zealand championships, and, <n this connection the Mnrlborough A»»"----i-iatlon has circularised associations askins them to support their application to bay« the championships played there. The bnll to be used will also lie decided upon.
