STRIFE IN ITALY.
FASOISTI AND COMMUNISTS. BATTLE NEAR VENICE. ROME. Decembrrf 28. Sanguinary conflicts between Fascist! and Communists took place during! Christmas at Piana, near Venice, several parties bein;' killed and wounded. The conflict was started by Comi»unists, who tore down Fascist manifestoes. Venetian Faacisti then mobilised their forces and marched to Piana, where the Communists wore installed in a fortified house. When the Fa?cieti surrounded the house with a airdlc of fire the Communists were obliged to rush out. A) desperate struggle ensued, in which the Communists were worsted, and were eventually captured.
