At the initial meeting of the recently formed branch of the Dairy Farmers' Union at Manjratiparu Soldiers' Settlement (near Morrinsville) it was resolved:—"That we. the members of the Mangatiparu branch of the Dairy Farmers' Union, having mutually accepted the Dairy Farmere' Union as ♦he official organisation of the dairy farmer soldier settlers, and while recognising the efforts of the Returned Soldiers' Association in the past, call on all such soldier settlers to combine end uphold the body which is making their flght its fight." Reports from the Internal Affairs Department show that, compared with ether years, there has this eeaeon been no increase in the practice of illegally procuring live native and imported game. The Department's inspectors are at present very actively engaged inppei'ti'l2 their districts and are especially invp.-tirrating j n connection with the matter of thp illegal destruction of New Zealand jjanie.
