Miss Gillander, of Rotorua, is at present visiting relatives in Auckland. Dr. Fisher, of Rotorua, and -Mrs. Fishor are at present in Wellington on holiday. Mr. H. A. Goudie conservator of State Forests, Rotorua, and Mrs. Goudie are spending their holidays in Dunedin. Mrs. E. M. Stringer, of Christchurch, is visiting Auckland and is the guest of her daughter. Mrs. Oldham. The Hon. O. Samuel, M.L.C., and Mrs. Samuel, of Xc" l'lymouth, left Wellington for America by the R.M.s. Tahiti on Tuesday. Miss Lorimer, principal of the Kelson Girls' College for the past 17 years, has been granted a year's leave, and will visit England. Xewmarket, on December 20, of Mies Charlotte Mildred Patterson, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Patterson, of Xewmarket, to Mr. Charles Keaneth Davies. third son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Davies, of Meadow Bank, Onehunga. The bride wore white charnieuse trimmed with satin roses and carried a sheath of ClJtistmas lilies, while the long embroidered veil, with a wreath of orange blossoms, formed ihe train. The bridesmaid, Mies Xessie Smith, a niece of the bride, wore mauve crepe de chine, trimmed with silver beads and pink berries and carried a shower bouquet of pink and mauve sweet peas. Little Thelma Patterson, in a frock of pink organdi carrying a basket of flowers acted as train-bearer. Tfyo bridegroom was supported "by Mr. J. Townsend, of Te Awamutu. Fordham, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Fordham, Peckham, London, England. The bride wore a simple frock of lavender lace relieved at the waiet with gold tissue roses. With this was worn a veil of lavender tulle surmounted by a Russian head dress of gold lace. Miss Kathlyn Coutts was bridesmaid and wore lemon satin trimmed with silver. The bouquets were posies to match the frocks. Mr. P. Wells supported the bridegroom as best man. The ceremony was very quiet and confined to immediate relatives. An interesting wedding took place at St. Aidan's Church. Remuera, on Saturday last, when Miss Betty McMillan, daughter cf Mr. and Mrs' McMillan, and grand-daughter of Mr. ('. (.'. McMillan, of Ardsbath, Torquay, England, was married to Mr. J. H. Salmon, 8.M.. of Thames. The bride, «-ho was given away by her. father, was attended by three bridesmaids. Misses Rose, O. Rutherford, and D. Dawson. Mr. E. B. C'lendon acted as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Kingsclere, the residence of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Carr. Clark and family, and Mrs. H. K. Bush. Greetings to the women of Auckland have been sent over from Western Australia by Mrs. A. McDonald, of the Women's" Service Guild, which is nonpfcrty, of that State. Mrs. McDonald, who is now president of the Perth branch, mentions that she retains the very pleasantest memories of her visit to New Zealand and wishes its women all success in the coming year. The women of Western Australia are the most advanced body of organised women in this part of the' Empire and branches of the Guild are spreading rapidly.
